Next Tuesday October 8th, the British Chamber of Commerce in Mexico will get together with oil industry majors such as BP, Shell, Schlumberger and Petrofac (amongst others) to organize “Energy Day 2013”, an exciting event that brings together energy industry professionals from all major national and international companies in this sector to debate the issues most crucial to Mexico’s energy future.
The day will be divided into five debates and roundtable discussions. The first debate will address the general issue of sustainability in the energy sector through answers to the question, “What are the steps required to deliver a sustainable future?”. The second debate will focus on deep water and greenfield development, touching upon the possible sources of technology and platform rigs that will enable this development.
After a short break where national and international attendees will have a chance to tour the exhibition floor, the third debate will address the role of gas in power generation and the importance of infrastructure in meeting Mexico’s increasing gas demand. The fourth debate will focus on a controversial topic in the industry: shale gas development in Mexico. Finally, the fifth debate will feature ideas on the possible sources of financing for the development of the Mexican energy industry.
A complete program of the event can be consulted here.
The event will feature ample time and space for crucial networking activities with major players in the British and international oil and gas industry, some of whom have an established presence in Mexico and others who are only beginning to design their entry strategy into this industry. This represents a huge opportunity for all attendees to get involved in the industry and to learn about the points of view of key decision makers regarding the sector’s most pressing problems and opportunities.
Energy Day 2013 will take place in the Mexico City Camino Real Hotel, located in Mariano Escobedo no. 700, Col. Anzures. A copy of Mexico Oil and Gas Review 2013 will be given out to all event speakers and roundtable participants.
